Festival Points

Festival Points measure your progress toward the next Wristband Event. Complete Horizon Festival races and activities such as PR Stunts and Skills to fill the progression meter.

You do not need to complete every available icon. Choose activities that suit your preferred driving style, then try other event types when you want variety or need additional points.

To progress efficiently:

  • Complete newly available Festival Events.
  • Attempt nearby PR Stunts while travelling between races.
  • Improve lower-rated results when you need additional points.
  • Check the progression meter before starting unrelated activities.
  • Use Discover Japan when you want a break from structured Festival progression.

Wristbands and Progression

Wristbands represent your rank within the Horizon Festival. When you earn enough Festival Points, a major Wristband Event becomes available. Complete it to earn the next Wristband and advance through the campaign.

Each Wristband introduces additional opportunities and progressively faster car themes. This creates a clearer sense of progression than immediately allowing every vehicle into every official Festival Event.

You can continue exploring Japan while working toward a Wristband. Discover Japan progress and Festival progression are separate, so neither path must be completed before enjoying the other.

Festival Events

Horizon Festival Events provide the campaign’s structured racing experience. They include curated Road, Dirt and Cross Country races that require cars matching the event’s permitted theme or restrictions.

These restrictions encourage you to build and use a varied garage rather than relying on one highly upgraded vehicle for the entire campaign.

Before entering an event:

  • Check the permitted car theme and performance requirements.
  • Choose a car suited to the road surface and race type.
  • Review your difficulty and assist settings.
  • Apply or create an appropriate tune when necessary.
  • Complete the event once to unlock additional customization options for future runs.

Cars, Restrictions and Race Customizer

Official Festival Events use car themes and restrictions to control which vehicles can enter. A suitable car must meet the event’s class, category or performance requirements before it can compete.

Complete an event for the first time to unlock Race Customizer for that route. You can then reshape future versions of the event by adjusting options such as weather, season, time of day, number of laps, traffic and permitted cars.

Race Customizer is useful when you want to:

  • Practise a route under different conditions.
  • Create longer or shorter versions of an event.
  • Race a specific selection of vehicles.
  • Adjust the experience for a Convoy.
  • Revisit a favourite route after completing its campaign event.

Wristband Events and Horizon Rush

When your Festival Points reach the required level, you must complete a Wristband Event to earn your next rank. These milestone events include major Showcases and Horizon Rush courses.

Horizon Rush tests how quickly you can complete an obstacle course. Time splits help you understand where you gained or lost time, while the final result determines the number of stars earned.

Prepare for a Wristband Event by checking the required vehicle, reviewing your assists and completing any upgrades before starting. These events represent progression milestones, so they may demand more precision than a standard race.

Becoming a Horizon Legend

Earn all seven Festival Wristbands to become a Horizon Legend. This achievement unlocks Legend Island, an endgame area designed for experienced drivers and high-performance cars.

Legend Island includes additional events, the Legend Island Circuit and the Colossus—a long event that loops around the map’s freeway network.

Reaching Horizon Legend does not end the game. You can continue completing Discover Japan activities, improving event results, collecting cars, playing Festival Playlists and creating custom racing experiences.
