The Festival Playlist is a monthly rotating selection of challenges where you can win rewards such as new cars (often hard to find or exclusive cars), points, clothing, spins etc. Festival Playlist is unlocked when you complete an expedition as you go through the Horizon Adventure. Once unlocked it is accessed via the “Festival Playlist” option under “Campaign” section in the menu.
Each Playlist is described as a season which usually has some sort of theme. The Series is broken into 4 Seasons (Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring). Each Season restarts every Thursday at 2:40pm UTC. This is an example of a Series – this is Series 36 “Horizon Cars and Coffee” that ran from July 18, 2024 to August 15, 2024.
The playlist challenges are split into 4 categories:
Season Events
These events require the use of a specific car type within a specified performance rating to complete events. By completing the events you are awarded points which accumulate toward a Series and Season target. As you earn points you earn more rewards.
Challenges
The Challenges are a series of specific goals, targets or scenarios requiring you to find treasure, reach targets or meet certain requirements. Some examples of a Challenge are:
Treasure Hunt, Photo Challenge, Horizon Open, Collectibles
Monthly Events
These are a selection of events for a Series, not each Season. It can be completed during any Season of the Series. This is usually a Rivals even where you have to post a clean lap using a specific car on a specific event.
Forzathon Events
These are a mix of weekly and daily challenges that earn you Forza points which can be used in the Horizon Forzathon Shop. The Weekly challenge usually has 4 parts to it usually relating to owning and using a certain car. The Daily challenges are released each day at 2:30pm UTC and must be completed within a week of being released (even if the Season has expired).
